The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the homicide of Roger Johnson.

Johnson was found dead in the backseat of his white Hyundai Sonata located in a pasture off Tribal Road 12 in Isleta Pueblo, N.M. on Feb. 27, 2018.

Johnson, 69, died of stab wounds.

A traffic stop for a potential stolen vehicle led to Jerome Frank, 29, of Yatahey, being hit with his third DWI charge.

Gallup Police Sgt. Terrance Peyketewa pulled over a dark gray Jeep Patriot with no headlights on near 500 N. Ninth St. Officer Norman Bowman arrived and took command of the scene.

The officer asked Frank to exit the vehicle, and he did so from the passenger door as the driver door appeared “nonfunctional,” according to the police report.

A semi-truck driver was declared dead after he rolled his truck while traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 Feb. 22.

New Mexico State Police investigated the crash that occurred at about 5:15 am, near mile marker 65, east of Prewitt. N.M.

The initial investigation revealed that the semi-truck was driven by Craig R. Wendt, 34, of Goodyear, Ariz.

According to a New Mexico State Police news release, Wendt swerved, entered the median, and then rolled. He was fatally injured, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

The news release also states that alcohol wasn’t a factor, and Wendt was wearing his seatbelt.

Aggravated DWI

As the driver of a dark-colored Nissan truck neared the intersection of Midway Drive and Pittsburgh Loop, and was about to go to sleep in the middle of the intersection, a caller reported the scene to Metro Dispatch.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Davis was dispatched to the scene where he found the suspect vehicle. He walked up to the window and woke the driver, Chancey Martinez, 53, no address listed. As Martinez rolled down the window, Davis noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle.
