A man threatened a woman twice in one day at two different locations.

On Sept. 5, around 4:30 pm, Gallup Police Officer Cindy Romancito was dispatched to 980 U.S. Hwy. 491, Safeway Supermarket, after a man threatened to kill a woman.

When Romancito arrived at the store she met the business’s security guard. The guard said that a woman had approached him and told him that a man was threatening to kill her.

A man was sitting outside a local business with a friend when another man approached him and stabbed him with a knife.

On Sept. 10, around 4:30 am, Gallup Police Officer Elijah Bowman was dispatched to Premier Carwash, 1115 W. Hwy. 66, after someone was stabbed. A caller told Metro Dispatch that her friend had been stabbed in the neck and the suspect, who was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, had run off.

By the time Bowman arrived at the scene other officers already had the suspect, who was identified as Fernando Largo, on the ground and in handcuffs.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Shirley called over the radio about 8:30 pm to report that he was conducting a welfare check on a motor home near the intersection of Williams Acres and State Highway 118. Shirley said that the vehicle was coming back stolen, and that someone was moving inside the vehicle. Deputy Brandon Salazar drove to the scene to help Shirley out.

A Smith Lake man, Owen Barbone, 32, was pulled over for a license plate matter and ended up charged with his third DWI.

McKinley County Deputy Brandon Salazar pulled over a silver GMC Yukon near the intersection of Ollieve and Third Avenue in Thoreau. The Yukon displayed the incorrect license plate that Metro Dispatch advised belonged to a 1978 Ford.
