Aggravated DWI

Gallup Patrolman Richard Rangel was dispatched to 2500 Hwy. 602 just after 8 pm on May 23 in reference to a reckless driver in a gray Nissan Versa with a New Mexico license plate.

While en route, Rangel was told by Metro Dispatch that the vehicle in question was parked northbound on the side of the road across from Continental Divide Electric Cooperative. Rangel spotted the gray Nissan Versa and conducted a stop.

Rangel noted the vehicle was still running and the driver window was halfway down. He asked the driver, Melanie Sam, 28, of Gallup, to step out of the vehicle, during which she stumbled and caught herself.

DOUBLE GPS LARCENY

Gallup, June 3

Gallup Police Officer Alana Bradley was dispatched to 285 S. Boardman Dr. in response to a pair of larcenies that were reported by the Gallup Magistrate Court.

When Bradley made contact with the court, she was told that two people had failed to charge their GPS monitors as part of a signed written contract for the McKinley County Compliance Program.

Tyson Long, 23, of Iyanbito, and Terran Sam, 28, of Gallup, were identified by the magistrate court.

Bradley said she took on further action, but no other information was given in her report.

All current leads exhausted

The input of a vigilant reader may be the next clue to help bring a number of missing persons home to Gallup.

At least that is what Gallup Police Department hopes for.

Lieutenant Billy Padavich held a special meeting for the press at Gallup police station June 6 to give details on four missing persons cases that the department is now seeking public help with.

“We have no [new] leads, and we’ve exhausted all our current leads at this point,” Padavich said.

BAD CHECK AND GREEN LEAVES

Gallup, May 28

Officers Alana Bradley and Molina were called out around 2:15 pm to the Penny Pinchers after someone named Jamal reported two females and a male inside a red passenger car trying to cash a fraudulent check.  Jamal said there was a woman inside the store, and a woman outside with a male outside in a car.  The three left for the Taco Bell.

One of the women told Jamal that the woman in the car wrote the check and had her go inside to cash it. Jamal said he called to verify the check, learned that it was fraudulent and called 9-1-1.  Officer Molina notified Sgt. Wilma Seciwa and she told Molina to charge the woman in the car, Esmerelda...
