LEUPP, Ariz. – 23rd Navajo Nation Council members met with the First Responder Network Authority, or FirstNet, on Tuesday to discuss the expansion and improvement of telecommunication networks on the Navajo Nation, specifically relating to public safety.
FirstNet was established in 2012 by the U.S. Congress in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, in which the system was designed to deliver a nationwide broadband network dedicated to public safety, to strengthen public safety users’ communications capabilities enabling them to respond more quickly and effectively to accidents, disasters, and emergencies.

The Rio West Mall recently held its 3rd Annual Mad Skills Talent Show July 14.
This free event was open for all ages, to show off a talent or two. The event was held center court from 5 pm - 8 pm, and 11 contestants gathered ready to battle in hopes of winning first, second, and third place, and winners were awarded $100, $75 and $50 respectively.
A plethora of talented contestants were on hand showcasing talent, such as guitar playing, singing, comedy sketches, and Hip-Hop dancing.
