“Gallup Day of Giving draws hundreds” - Dee Velasco, Vol. 5, Issue 243; Nov. 29 :

A charity event in Gallup drew sizable crowds, reminding us that there are many people out there who want to do a good deed for someone in need.

“Too drunk to care?” - Sun Staff, Vol. 5, Issue 239, Nov. 1:

This, pardon the pun, sobering look at the number of child abandonment cases rising along with the number of alcohol abuse cases around Gallup could, and should, make one reconsider picking up a bottle if they have little ones that are depending on them at that moment.

No. 1) Issue 229 Aug. 23: I selected Ramona Roach and her traditional shawl dance as my top pick of 2019 because out of 52 covers, this was the one that I kept looking back at and taking out to share with friends.  The color, the energy, the beauty is there again and again, every time I look back at it. No. 3) Issue 227 Aug. 9: I find this image displayed Aug. 7 at Best in Show...

The two cooked up a special day for 40 Gallup-McKinley County Schools students who were chosen to receive breakfast at McDonald’s, a shopping trip, a movie at the El Morro Theatre, pizza for lunch, and visits with both Santa Claus and the Grinch Dec. 14.

Students expected to transfer into on-the-job training

At a time when the country is reaching out to other countries to fill a truck driver gap of 400,000 and a welder gap of 600,000, the Greater Gallup Industrial Workforce Program Leadership Team is working to make a dent in those numbers with its GGEDC Workforce Program.

“These are jobs that could be going to local people in local communities,” team member Kent Wilson said. “These are enormous opportunities for local people who are properly trained. A more qualified workforce means there are more business opportunities to expand and attract new business.”
