Exceeds goal of 60 pints for new record

Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services’ recent blood drive on Oct. 17  and 18 surpassed its goal of 60 pints and reached a new record of 63 pints from 55 donors. In addition, eight of the donations were of high value double red cells which carry oxygen to organs and tissue and are used for surgery patients, organ transplants and cancer treatment.  The last blood drive in June secured 55 pints.

Extreme El Niño episodes are becoming more frequent under climate change, and climate researchers say continued global warming is likely to make them even more frequent. With 2020 around the corner, the country has a pivotal election year ahead. And many candidates and hopefuls know it, which is why many of them have already hit the campaign trail and begun holding meetings and rallies.

The Democratic Party of New Mexico recently got together in Gallup for their State Central Committee meeting. “The state of New Mexico has attempted to become equalized, or distribute funding to students based off students’ individual needs,” Gallup-McKinley County Schools Superintendent Mike Hyatt said. “The goal is that students are not treated differently based on where they live in New Mexico.”
