SANTA FE – The New Mexico Human Services Department announced that New Mexico households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will once again receive the maximum amount for their household size for the month of November.


Beginning in March 2020, SNAP households that were not already receiving the maximum SNAP benefit amount for their household size received an increase to their benefits to bring them to the maximum amount each month. These increases were made to help reduce food insecurity for New Mexicans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gallup businesses that are feeling the pinch of the COVID-19 pandemic now have another avenue for relief.

The city announced a number of changes to its Small Business Continuity Grant Program on Oct. 19,  including changes to eligibility requirements and reimbursable expenses. The changes are the result of new information from the State of New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration.

On that same day the cap on the awards for small business grants for Gallup applicants went up by 200 percent to $30,000.

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — Nearly $50 million was added to the Navajo Nation CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Stimulus) Act Hardship Assistance Expenditure Plan through Navajo Nation Council Resolution No. CS-74-20. After the Navajo Nation Council considers and then approves an application process it will give the Office of the Controller all necessary approvals to implement the hardship assistance program.
