Letter to the editor: A FORMER OFFICER’S CALL FOR GUN RIGHTS

E-mail Print PDF
Dear Editor:

Being retired from police work in the military and in the local community for more than 38+ years I have encountered several cases where the Federal Government Refused to prosecute gun cases that only they could file because it was not allowed under NM State law. I had a complaint from the family of one of my...

Letter to the Editor: For Visitors to cvvaccine.nmhealth.org

E-mail Print PDF
New Mexico residents are encouraged to register for the Cornovirus Vaccine. It’s an easy process, at first. Pertinent information is gathered, and a decision is made about notification: phone, text or email. But then, depending upon how you connect to the internet, a test must be passed. It’s called a “CAPTCHA.” Presumably, most pass the CAPTCHA, as unlimited retakes are allowed. But there are those, such as myself, who fail repeatedly. For us, online registration is an impossibility. This angers me.

Moreover, for those who browse the internet by way of a VPN or the TOR network, I suspect that the bar for passing is elevated.

Fortunately, though, the New Mexico Department of...

Letter to the Editor: Failed representation with opportunity lost in the U.S. Space Command for New Mexico

N.M. Tech alumna, B. S. Engineering, Former candidate for U. S.

Congress District 3

The news of New Mexico losing the race to land U.S. Space Command, Jan. 13th, 2020, was disheartening to read as someone who comes from the engineering field.  It brought flashbacks of me graduating from New Mexico Tech with an engineering degree and no job to be had in New Mexico.  Here in New Mexico, we were one of six finalists for the U.S. Space Command which would have overseen military space operations.  Recently, the U.S Air Force selected Birmingham, Ala. as the location for the Space Command.

Alabama will be in for job opportunities our leaders in New Mexico squelched.  From Mayor Keller...

Letter to the Editor: 9 CAR PARADE

E-mail Print PDF

Dear Editor:

This is a loud shout out to our hospital workers and first responders.  We planned a large car parade for Nov. 28, but the governor’s restrictions limit car parades to only nine cars.  So nine cars it was.

But workers: make no mistake, we love and support you and appreciate that you and your family’s health are on the line helping our community heal.

Michael Daly, for the organizers and the community

Letter to the editor: Taking on Rep. Lee Alcon

E-mail Print PDF
Well I think I got Representative Lee Alcon’s attention from the letter he wrote in the Cibola Citizen on 10-28-20.  Lee tells me I am wrong about him in my earlier letter.  Lee advised getting information about votes absentee was perfectly legal by NM law, unfortunately he failed to cite said law.

I have been asked by the Editor of the same paper to make sure I cite my comments with a link page when quoting other sources. I guess Representative Alcon is exempt from that.  I did find some of his other comments interesting about how one could pay for this information and remembered when I ran for Cibola County Probate Judge some years back I had to report all the money I got to the...
