E-mail Print PDF
Public Service Recognition Week May 6-12

Dear Editor,

Across the country and in communities like Gallup, government employees serve and protect us every day. Throughout the year, but especially during Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), May 6-12, we should gratefully acknowledge their service.

I want to publically...

Letter to the Editor: Navajo leaders must unite against Trump

E-mail Print PDF
Editor,

With just over 460 days in the Oval Office, approximately 146 stays at his personal properties and over 107 golfing breaks, Donald Trump (A.K.A. “John Barron” as stated to Johnathan Greenberg, ex-Forbes reporter on May 17, 1984) has set the Gold Standard for collusion with American enemies both foreign and domestic, the deliberate obstruction of justice and immoral conduct inappropriate of a sitting United States president.

Trump’s salacious cavorting with Russian hookers and their Golden Showers, along with American porn stars and 17 women (some even while they he was married to two other women and “First Lady” Melanija (Knavs) Trump) should call into question the...

Letter to the editor: Appreciating Gallup’s thoughtful citizens

E-mail Print PDF
To the citizens of Gallup

At the beginning of August 2016 my husband and I were visiting Gallup as part of our Route 66 trip. On the morning of the 3rd August, my husband had been taking photos of the old Coronado motel when he lost consciousness and hit his head on the ground.

To all these thoughtful people, I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation. Our heartfelt thanks to the ambulance crew, the doctors at Methodist Hospital...

E-mail Print PDF
In response to the recent article taking steps to improve school security in our area. Recently I was at the Bluewater Elementary School my last week of service assigned by Sheriff Tony Mace to give schools extra security due to the recent incident in Florida.

I was upset to see cameras in the school had not worked in three years, and the he person responsible for damaging them had nothing done to him. I was also told the fire alarm at San Rafael Elementary was not working, and because cell phone service in that area often does not work a fire radio was giving to the school in case of an emergency.  I was also told the doors at San Rafael had to be left open with the locks engaged so...

Letter to the Editor

January 30, 2018

Dear Editor:

There are several races in the 2018 New Mexico elections that are wide open. It offers us the opportunity to get our government back on track of providing service to improve the lives of the residents of New Mexico.

First, I want to state the obvious. We must change our dirty underwear. That, being the Republican Administration who has lowered the standard of our State and Country through bigotry and hatred. Frankly, I am embarrassed by the Republican Party’s racial demagoguery as their political strategy. As President Donald Trump promotes racial stereotypes, his fellow Republicans’ silence and defending him only discredit themselves. And it...
