Couple found dead in Mentmore home

A call for a welfare check turned tragic after two deceased persons were discovered in a Mentmore residence by Gallup Police.

GPD Officer Clarissa Morgan was dispatched to the Love’s Truck Stop at 3306 W. Hwy. 66 in the afternoon of Feb. 2 after being advised of a calling party trying to reach their daughter.

A customer was refused a sale of alcohol at a Speedway store near 409 Hwy. 566 due to intoxication. The male then left the store in a white Chevrolet pickup truck and headed south on the highway. The incident was reported to Metro Dispatch, who issued an attempt-to-locate on the truck.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Villa arrived near the intersection of Highway 118 and Highway 566 and parked to see if the vehicle was nearby. Several minutes later a truck matching the description of the ATL vehicle passed going south on Highway 566 and Villa turned to follow it.

DISPUTE OVER FRIENDS
Gallup, Jan. 31

A call to McKinley County Sheriff’s Office early in the morning resulted in one arrest for battery.

Deputies Johnson Lee and Michael Harvey were dispatched to a residence on Coronado Boulevard after the calling party advised the suspect had left the scene in a red truck and had possibly parked on the backside of Speedway Towing near 545 Allison Rd.

The officers arrived at the Coronado address and found the suspect vehicle. They met a male who lived at the scene who told them about a female who had been hit by her boyfriend, Marcus Miller, 31, no address listed. Carjacking suspect arrested after collision with police units

Gallup Police received a call involving a carjacking at Hampton Inn West at 111 Twin Buttes Rd. about 1:30 pm on Feb. 15.

The victim told police a Native American man pointed a pistol at her and then drove away in her blue Ford Escape SUV. Shortly after the call came out, deputies from the McKinley County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen vehicle being driven on the east side of Gallup. The deputies followed the vehicle through the Indian Hills and Red Hills neighborhoods and initiated a pursuit.

WOMAN WITH A KNIFE
Gallup, Nov. 13

Tribe Security already had 29-year-old Latanya Livingston of Breadsprings, N.M., in handcuffs when Gallup Police were called about a stabbing. The person who called GPD said they were standing behind Taco Shack.

It was just after midnight when Gallup Police Officer Alana Bradley was advised of the incident near 1400 S. Second St.

The victim stated he was leaving Sports Page when Livingston approached and stabbed him in the shoulder with a knife and fled the area. He was transported to a local hospital while officers searched for the weapon, finding a knife near a fenced area. It appeared to have been cleaned.
