Numerous open containers in a vehicle and an inconsistent story led to Kenneth Price, 34, of Window Rock, being arrested for his third DWI.

Gallup Officer Aaron Marquez was patrolling the north side district near Mesa View Plaza when he saw a white Chevrolet TBZ parked in the plaza lot with its engine running. Several nearby vehicles were covered with snow that had been falling the night prior while the TBZ was not, leading Marquez to determine it had just arrived at the location.

ALBUQUERQUE - A federal jury on March 10 returned a guilty verdict on Brian Tony, 50, of Gallup. The jury found Tony guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

Tony, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was arrested on June 3, 2016, on a criminal complaint charging him with killing a man by stabbing him in the head and neck and hitting him with a hammer. Tony killed the victim on the Navajo Nation in McKinley County on May 9, 2016.  At the time, Tony was on supervised release for a prior conviction on a federal assault charge.

Gallup Police stopped a vehicle swerving across Aztec Avenue, which led to Regina Bee, 41, of Gallup, being arrested for her fourth DWI offense.

Officer Albert Jarad was traveling westbound near the intersection of Aztec Avenue and Second Street when he pulled behind a black Nissan Altima at a traffic signal. While the light was still red, the Altima pulled forward and continued on Aztec Avenue.

Jarad began following the Altima, which then stopped at a green light before continuing on its path.
