Reinstates Obama Administration BLM Waste Prevention Rule

SAN FRANCISCO — In a resounding victory for taxpayers, public health, and the environment, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California invalidated the Trump administration’s rollback of the Obama-era Waste Prevention Rule on July 15. This ruling means that the Waste Prevention Rule goes back in effect in 90 days, and the oil and gas industry will have to comply with the rule’s requirements to prevent waste of gas on federal lands.

Was it a conspiracy? Wrongful termination?  Inside politics?  Lack of communication? A complaint filed against Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services by former CEO David Conejo and his management company Healthcare Integrity, in U. S. District Court on July 23 indicates it was a mix of these and more.

The complaint being brought under the Lanham Act, 15 U. S. C. § 1125 (a) (1)(B) and New Mexico common law, claims damages resulting from the publication of false and misleading information misrepresenting the quality of Conejo’s services and commercial activities.

City receives cleaning, beautifying grant

The City of Gallup was recently awarded a $30,300 grant from the Litter Control and Beautification program under the State of New Mexico Tourism Department.

The funds are intended to be used by the city on litter clean-up supplies, advertising, recycling supplies, community gardening supplies, to empower youth, and increase the Keep America Beautiful program capacity. The grant agreement will last through the 2021 fiscal year and expire on June 30, 2021.
