WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
Gallup Wreaths Across America is working to place a Christmas wreath on every veteran’s grave in Gallup on Dec. 19. Due to COVID restrictions, the honor guard and wreath-laying ceremony will be virtual, with the City of Gallup filming and posting it online. Volunteers who wish to participate the laying of the wreaths at Gallup’s four cemeteries will meet in the open air, wearing masks and practice social distancing. Three-hundred wreaths have been sponsored so far. There are 1,300 veteran’s graves in Gallup. The deadline for sponsorship is Nov. 30. Wreaths can be sponsored for $15 each.
