A community donations page has been set up for the Miyamura COVID-19 Alternate Care Facility at: https://acfmiyamura.wordpress.com/

The Miyamura COVID-19 Alternate Care Facility, a collaborative effort between the State, the Community, the GIMC, and RMCHCS, has some needs that can best be filled by local generosity. To help with patient and provider safety and comfort, this website was set up to tap into the community base, and to help people reach out.

The donations page will be updated and is set up so subscribers will know what the most current needs are.

The site lists present needs for basic start up.

Most immediate is a need for prepared food for 25-30 people. National Guard, volunteers and medical staff are currently preparing for patient arrivals.

The contracted food service is not yet active, so community donations of food and lunches from restaurants in town are welcome.

A list of other needs as of April 22 includes:

  • dry erase boards x 2, large
  • 2 “smart” televisions (patients will be here for long stays) for “rec” stations
  • shower slippers / flip flops – as many pairs as we can get
  • rubber squeegee for shower floors to clean between showers, 3 or 4 of these
  • padlocks for patient lockers x 60
  • duct tape to help maintain floors and wall panels
  • blue painters tape for organizing shelves without marring surfaces in the school
  • stationery items: including pens, sharpies, 3-hold punch, notebooks, stapler(s), paperclips and staples, folders, dry erase markers
  • patient toiletry kits (all items must be new, preferably travel-sized): toothpaste, shampoo, comb/brush, floss, nail file, bar soap or body-wash
  • baggies for toiletry kits
  • 2 basic/standard wheelchairs, preferably with feet platforms, and preferably with large rear wheel for self-propelling (as opposed to 4 small casters);
  • 2 shower benches or shower chairs;
  • 2 bedside commodes;
  • some sort of night-stand or fold-out TV trays for patients to rest items on, including cell-phone, dinner tray, picture of family, etc.- as many as we can get (up to 60);
