McKinley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy T. Bowman pulled over Jones after a short stop-and-go pursuit on U.S. Route 491. Bowman stated in his reported that he pulled Jones over because she was swerving and he noticed that she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Jones was reported saying: “I am just going home,” and that she lived over the hill. She claimed to have an ankle injury, but took the field sobriety test. She blew a .30 and .31 during her two breath tests.

Baker was hoping that Gallup Police Department Officer Carmelita James would just forgive that he was driving intoxicated and could bypass jail to go to detox. James pulled Baker over when she noticed that he was traveling down Wilson at a high rate of speed, according to the police report.
He had a passenger in the car, but he quickly took off on foot shortly after James brought Baker to rear of his vehicle for questioning. In all, Baker refused to take field sobriety tests and breath tests, earning him an aggravated DWI. He was also charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license.

GPD Officer Terrance Peyketewa was dispatched to the area of Indian Jewelers Supply to check on a reported drunk driver. When he spotted the driver Jameson, in a white Dodge Durango, he was extending his arm out the window with car keys in hand. Jameson struggled to stand up upon exiting in the car. According to the report, a citizen said Jameson crashed into her car. Jameson failed the field sobriety test and blew breath test results of .35 and .36

1st DWI, Aggravated
Lynch caught GPD Officer Steven Peshlakai’s eye when he rolled through a stop sign at Green Street and Ford Drive. Lynch was driving a silver Ford F-150 truck and denied that he had been drinking, despite the smell of alcohol wafting from the vehicle.
Lynch failed the field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He blew a .17 and .15 during each breath tests. Peshlakai noted in his report that he saw three empty 50 ml bottles of Jack Daniels, and an empty can of Redd’s Green Apple Ale on the driver’s floorboard.

Aggravated DWI
GPD Sgt. Francie Martinez pulled Keams over after she nearly crashed into him while making a left turn at the intersection of Highway 66 and Arnold Street. She pulled her Chevy Cobalt into the nearby Allsups store. Martinez could smell alcohol coming from the cab of the car.
Keams admitted to having two cans of Bud Light beer. Martinez noted that her eyes were glossy and red and her speech slurred. She could barely stand, let alone conduct the field sobriety test and was arrested. She blew a .20 – twice.

Aggravated DWI
MCSO Deputy Merlin Benally was called to the Thoreau Giant to conduct a welfare check on a blue single cab Chevy truck parked at the gas pump. When Benally pulled behind Tapaha, he drove his truck to the east side of the building. Tapaha said he had “a little bit” to drink, according to the report.
He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested. He blew a .22 – twice.

2nd DWI
Taking a nap in the left hand turn lane of an intersection earned Foster his second DWI. GPD Officer Daniel Brown thought it was peculiar that the white SUV was at a standstill as other vehicles moved through intersection at Industry Street and Highway 66.
Foster refused to take field sobriety tests, claiming that he had shrapnel in his legs. He was arrested and blew a.16 and .15 on both of his breath tests.

Aggravated DWI
A call to Metro Dispatch about a black Ford Ranger heading south on U.S. Route 491 that was swerving in and out of lames, resulted in James being pulled over by GPD Officer Matthew Ashley in the American Heritage Plaza. Ashley noted that there was a crushed Budweiser can on the passenger side floor.
According to the report, James said he drank two 12oz. cans of Budweiser at 4 am and had nothing to drink since then. James then proceeded to fail the field sobriety tests and refused to take the two required breath tests, earning him an aggravated DWI.
