DODGY DENNY

11/4, Gamerco

A domestic dispute led to the arrest of a 41-year-old Gamerco man for aggravated battery on a household member.

Shawn K. Denny was also charged with battery on a household member.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Paul Davis stated the complaining party said the two began arguing and Denny became physically abusive to the woman and her daughter.

The 18-year-old daughter had blood on her hands and face, Davis said.

The daughter said Denny hit her in the face with his head. She said she hit Denny, who had injuries, too, when he threw her to the ground.

Davis said when he confronted Denny, he was sitting in his living room and at first refused to cooperate, but police managed to get handcuffs on him.

As Davis and another deputy were taking Denny outside, he fell to the ground and had to be forcibly placed in the unit, according to the report.

Because of his injuries, Denny was taken to a local hospital where he again refused to cooperate and tried to walk out. Denny was finally treated, but Davis said Denny continued to be uncooperative as he was taken to the jail and when he was booked.

POSSIBLE ASSAULT

10/26, Gallup

The Gallup Police Department is investigating a possible sexual assault that occurred about 10 pm Oct. 26.

GPD Officer Nicola Martinez said she was dispatched to an area near Sammy C’s in reference to a woman who was found by her cousin sitting in the passenger seat of a car with her pants down.

According to Martinez, the woman was highly intoxicated and confused. She said nothing had happened, and despite prolonged questioning, she declined to say anything about the incident.

The following morning, however, police received a call from staff at a local hospital about a woman who may have been sexually assaulted. Martinez took the call and found the same woman she’d spoken to the night before.

The woman had been brought to the hospital by her mother. Martinez said she asked the woman if she remembered talking to her the night before and the woman said no. She said she didn’t know who attacked her.

The investigation is ongoing.

BATTERY FOR BRUGGEMAN

10/26, Gallup

Arthur Bruggeman faces charges for battery on a household member after his girlfriend reported he pushed her down and hit her.

Bruggeman denied the allegations.

Gallup police reported the complaining party said she was sleeping in her truck outside of her apartment because she had been out drinking the night before. She said Bruggeman banged on her window around 3:40 am.

As police headed to her apartment, the woman said Bruggeman pushed her from behind and she fell to the ground, hitting her face on a chair. She said when she got up, Bruggeman punched her twice in the face.

Bruggeman was then arrested.

STABBING SEAMAN

10/26, Gallup

A domestic dispute at a local motel resulted in the arrest of a Gallup man for the alleged stabbing of his girlfriend.

Gallup police were called to 1305 W. Hwy 66 about 4 pm Oct. 26, where they met the manager who told them he had gone to one of the rooms where he found a woman who said she had been stabbed.

The man in the room, identified as Robert Seaman, 58, denied the allegation and told the manager the woman fell.

When GPD officers arrived, the woman said Seaman had stabbed her in the leg.

Seaman again denied the allegations and said the woman fell.

The woman, however, had blood on her leg and her pants were torn.

Seaman was also found to have an outstanding bench warrant. He was charged with aggravated battery on a household member and aggravated assault on a household member.

WIELDING A WEAPON

10/26, Gallup

Gallup police were called to the area of the 500 block of Cactus Road at about 12:47 am Oct. 26 in connection with a report of shots fired.

When GPD officers arrived at the scene, they were told a man in a gray vehicle had fired two shots and then left the area.

Police were able to track down the vehicle, which was driven by Kelly Adam Radosevich, 22.

A pistol was found in the vehicle and because Radosevich said he had had a couple of drinks, he was given a portable breath test.

He showed minimal signs of intoxication and posted a reading of .04.

He was, however, charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon.

STABBED IN STOMACH

10/26, Gallup

A Gallup man was charged with attacking and stabbing a Zuni man during a fight Oct, 26.

GPD Patrolman Patrick Largo said he was parked near the courthouse square about 8 pm, when he saw a man jump on another man and begin to fight him. The man who was jumped ran to Largo’s police unit and said he was stabbed in the stomach.

The other man left, but police later found him with a man and woman.

The suspected attacker was identified as Nathan King, 33. He was placed under arrest.

The alleged victim said he was walking from south Gallup to Walmart, when he was attacked for no apparent reason.

Police were later able to find the knife that was suspected to have been used in the incident.

King was charged with aggravated battery.
