The district is tackling issues that affect students with Autism Spectrum Disorder using the advancements of Robokind.
Robokind is a Dallas, Texas-based company that was founded in 2011. The education technology and robotics company developed an evidence-based, social-emotional instructional curriculum for ASD students. This curriculum comes in the form of robots that can show facial expressions to help ASD students learn facial cues. Their names are Milo, Carver, Veda, and Jemi.

America’s iconic bald eagles have recovered from the brink of extinction brought on by the once-widespread use of the pesticide DDT half a century ago. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says the national symbol now numbers nearly 317,000 individual birds with an estimated 74,400 nesting pairs. Only about 417 pairs had survived by 1963 because of the eggshell-thinning phenomenon caused by the now-banned DDT.

First case of Hantavirus detected in McKinley County
The person in McKinley County who contracted the first case of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome this year is in “stable condition” at a hospital in Albuquerque, a spokesman for the Navajo Department of Health said.
The news on Wednesday night follows an announcement about the case made on April 19 by the Nation.
Del Yazzie, an epidemiologist with the Navajo Epidemiology Center with the indian health agency, said the individual is resting and being treated at University of New Mexico, but he probably would not have an update on the condition of the person by April 22, before Gallup Sun's press time.
